MADISON, WISC. & ENID, OKLA. - Ten years after setting a NJCAA record with its sixth consecutive appearance at the Division II World Series, Madison College broke their own record with a Region 4 Tournament title that sends them to their seventh straight trip to the national tournament. The top-seeded WolfPack closed out their 13th region championship since 2010 with a 10-5 victory over #2-seed Kankakee Community College on May 17. Sophomore centerfielder Marcelino Edison Alonso was named the Region 4 Tournament MVP, while Pack coach Mike Davenport collected yet another Region 4 Coach of the Year award. (Recap: Madison)

Madison College opened postseason play with Region 4 Sectional Tournament wins over #8-seed Bryant & Stratton College and #12-seed Highland Community College to once again host the Region 4 Tournament, where they welcomed - and eventually beat - the other three remaining sectional winners. The WolfPack shut out #4-seed Black Hawk College with an 8-0 decision in seven innings, to set up a semifinal showdown with #3-seed Elgin Community College. The Spartans rallied from down 6-0 to tie the game in the seventh; however, Madison College answered in the bottom half with four runs to claim a 10-6 victory and a spot in the title game.

The Cavaliers, who dropped a 4-3 opener to ECC, rebounded with back-to-back wins in elimination games, taking down BHC by a 7-0 final before winning a rematch with Spartans 6-4. The WolfPack held a 3-0 lead after three innings in the championship when KCC exploded for five runs. A two-run fifth inning closed the gap, and a three-run sixth frame put Madison College back on top. Jalen Gellings, the 2024 Region 4 Tournament MVP, delivered a clutch RBI-single before Alonso drove in a run and scored another. They tacked on two more insurance runs in the eighth. Alonso finished the tournament with five hits with two doubles, five RBI, and three runs scored over the final two games.

Back at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Oklahoma for their 19th national tournament appearance, Madison College opened as the #5-seed in the 12-team, double-elimination NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series. The first game was a back-and-forth tussle with #12-seed Lackawanna College, and the WolfPack rallied from down 6-4 with a three-run seventh inning that culminated in a run-scoring double by Tyler Butina to put the Pack on top 7-6. Madison College wasted no time in their second game, dispensing #4-seed Heartland Community College in eight innings with a 9-1 victory to reach the quarterfinals.

Against top-seed and top-ranked Pasco-Hernando State College, the WolfPack gave up eight runs in a single inning and suffered a 10-3 loss to drop into an elimination game with #9-seed Iowa Central Community College. Down 4-2, Madison College posted six runs in the top of the fifth, including a grand slam by Butina, to go ahead 8-4; however, the Tritons immediately tied the game with four runs in the home half, and then went ahead 10-8 with two runs in the sixth. The WolfPack finished their season fifth in the nation and with a 45-11 record.
