Black Hawk defends crown, Sandburg's Robertson wins playoff for top spot
BYRON, ILL. - Black Hawk College led all three rounds of the 2025 Region 4 Division II Men's Golf Tournament at PrairieView Golf Club, earning a repeat championship and the program's 16th since 2006. The Braves three-day total of 916 was 15 shots better than runner-up Highland Community College and 31 strokes in front of Bryant & Stratton College in third place. Colby Robertson of Carl Sandburg College defeated BHC's Leo Fiscus in a playoff to earn Region 4 Golfer of the Year, while Black Hawk's Shayne Shepherd was named Region 4 Coach of the Year. 2025 NJCAA Region 4 Division II Men's Golf Tournament Final Results
Black Hawk College posted back-to-back 18-hole scores of 309 to take a five-shot lead into the final round. The Braves left no doubt, turning in the tournament's only sub-300 round on Tuesday with a 298. The Cougars registered team totals of 311-312-308, and the Bobcats used scores of 319-312-316 to hold off a hard-charging Carl Sandburg College by three shots.

Robertson (77-77-72) and Fiscus (76-76-74) completed their three-day tournament with identical ten-over-par 226 totals. The duo returned to the course for a playoff, which Robertson won to become the first Chargers golfer to win the region's top individual honor. Ryan Belz of Oakton College shot a 330 to place tied for third with BHC's Wil Sigwarth. Robertson's teammate Tanner Wake was part of a four-way tie for eighth at 233.

Black Hawk College, Highland Community College, and Bryant & Stratton College, along with Robertson, Belz, and Wake, all earned automatic qualifiers into the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, from May 20-23.
