Truman maintains grip on Region 4 with three-peat championship

CHICAGO, ILL. & COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA - The bid for a three-peat was completed by the top-seeded Harry S. Truman College men's soccer team as they defeated #2-seeded Richard J. Daley College by a 3-0 final to claim their third consecutive Region 4 Division I Men's Soccer Tournament championship. The Falcons, who did not allow a goal in the tournament, advanced to the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament. Head coach Maciej Orlowski received his third straight Region 4 Coach of the Year award. Nils Stodulka got the scoring started for Truman with a 30' goal, and it remained 1-0 into the second half. Bell Odhran scored on an unassisted kick in the 52' before Arran MacMaster capped the scoring with a 77' goal. Goalkeepers Oliver Bewell and Aymerick Joly combined for the shut out win and collectively made three saves.

Truman College earned an automatic berth into the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament, and opened against Region 11 champion and host Iowa Western Community College. The Reivers grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 12' and then put the game away in the second half with three goals over a 25 minute span. Down 4-0, Bell Odhran knocked home an unassisted goal in the 88' to get the Falcons on the board in a 4-1 setback. The season ends for Truman College with a 17-2-1 record.
