The NJCAA Region 4 has announced the numerous recipients of all-region team accolades for student-athletes competing in the Fall 2024 season, including those recipients of Region 4 Player & Athlete of the Year honors.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2025 fall sports season, and 41 student-athletes representing Region 4 were recognized. The group includes eight from men's cross country, seven in women's cross country, four in men's soccer and women's volleyball, and three from women's soccer, as well as 15 College of DuPage football players. There are 11 first team recipients, 16 second team honorees, four third team selections, and ten honorable mention distinctions. The student-athletes represent nine Region 4 institutions.

CHICAGO, ILL. & COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA - The bid for a three-peat was completed by the top-seeded Harry S. Truman College men's soccer team as they defeated #2-seeded Richard J. Daley College by a 3-0 final to claim their third consecutive Region 4 Division I Men's Soccer Tournament championship. The Falcons, who did not allow a goal in the tournament, advanced to the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament. Head coach Maciej Orlowski received his third straight Region 4 Coach of the Year award.

JOLIET, ILL. - One year after a historic run to a first region championship and eventual trip to the national tournament, the Joliet Junior College men's soccer team decided to run it back and repeat in 2025. The Wolves defeated UW-Whitewater at Rock County by a 10-2 final to successfully defend their crown as Region 4 Division III Men's Soccer Tournament champions. Head coach Cris Trillo was awarded the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

MADISON, WISC. - With each victory, the Madison College men's soccer team knew something special was building in 2025, and it culminated with the program's first Region 4 championship after a 2-0 defeat of Triton College in the finals. The top-seeded WolfPack did not allow a goal throughout the entire 2025 Region 4 Division II Men's Soccer Tournament en route to securing the program's first-ever appearance at a national tournament. Head coach Logan Fye was named the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

The NJCAA Region 4 Hall of Fame is pleased to announce a nine-member induction Class of 2025. The group includes eight student-athletes, one of which is also recognized for lifetime achievement, and one national championship team that all excelled during their time competing in Region 4. The inductees represent five different Region 4 schools, including three inductees from Madison College, two each from Joliet Junior College and Oakton College, and one from the College of DuPage.

The group includes 12 from men's cross country, five in women's volleyball, four from women's cross country, and three from men's and women's soccer, as well as 20 College of DuPage football players. There are 17 first team recipients, 18 second team honorees, three third team selections, and eight honorable mention distinctions. The student-athletes represent ten Region 4 institutions.

Joliet, Morton represent Region 4 on national stage

BATAVIA, NY & HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - Region 4 champions Joliet Junior College and Morton College competed at their respective NJCAA national tournaments to close out the 2024 fall season. The Wolves went 1-1 in their two matches at the Division III championships, while the Panthers dropped both of their pool play matches at the Division II tournament.

MADISON, WISC. - As the minutes began to wind down on November 9 at Madison College, it appeared that Elgin Community College was on its way to a region championship. Roughly a dozen soccer minutes later, it was Morton College holding the Region 4 Division II Men's Soccer Tournament championship plague with a 3-2 victory in overtime. Freshman Ricardo Cruz nailed the game-winning goal in the final seconds of the first overtime to give the Panthers their sixth region crown in the past 11 years. Juan Franco was awarded Region 4 Coach of the Year honors.

CHICAGO, ILL. - One year after winning the school's first Region 4 title, the men's soccer team from Harry S. Truman College has delivered another after a 3-1 victory over Malcolm X College in the 2024 Region 4 Division I Men's Soccer Tournament Championship. The Falcons broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of second half goals and earn Maciej Orlowski his second consecutive Region 4 Coach of the Year accolade.

Joliet takes Region 4, Midwest District titles on way to first national tournament

JOLIET, ILL. - It may not have been the most traditional route, but in the end, the Joliet Junior College men's soccer team beat the teams in front of them and are now headed to their first-ever national tournament. As the only remaining Division III team left in Region 4, the Wolves played a "Region Championship", also classified as a Sub-District Championship Game, on October 26 and defeated Owens Community College (OH) from Region 12 by a 3-1 final. A week later, JJC dispensed of Region 13 winner Riverland Community College (MN) with a 4-1 decision to claim the NJCAA Midwest District Championship.

Whether you say Ola, Hola, Hej, Mhoro, Salam, Moin, or just Hello, at least one member of the 2024 Madison College men's soccer team will probably answer back. That's because the WolfPack has 13 athletes who were born in countries outside of the United States and spanning five continents and 13 countries. The team also has 11 second-generation players on the team, several who are the first members of their families to attend college. In all, the Pack can collectively speak eight different languages.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 4 membership will grow by two for the 2024-25 academic calendar with a pair of Janesville, Wisconsin-based institutions. Blackhawk Technical College and UW-Whitewater at Rock County will push the number of school in Region 4 to 32.
