      <title>Harper holds off rivals DuPage, Joliet for tenth NJCAA Championship</title>

      <description>FORT DODGE, IOWA - If you looked hard enough through the collected and falling snow, you would have noticed the 2025 NJCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship was a three-horse race made up solely of teams from Region 4. In the end, Harper College outran defending national champion College of DuPage and third place Joliet Junior College to claim the program's tenth championship since 2011. The Hawks finished with 55 points, while the Chaparrals had 68 points and the Wolves posted 87 points. The three teams also combined to place eight runners on the NJCAA All-American Team.</description>

      <description>GLEN ELLYN, ILL. - Two teams returned to the top of the podium at the 2025 Region 4 Divisions II &amp; III Men's Cross Country Championships as Moraine Valley Community College earned its first title in eight years and Harper College returned to the top after a one-year hiatus. The Cyclones third championship came by a 33-point margin over Waubonsee Community College, while the Hawks' 18th title overall was a ten-point victory over Joliet Junior College. Charles Link of Sauk Valley Community College earned Region 4 Division II Athlete of the Year, while Nathan Ciarlette of JJC took top honors in Division III. Dimitri Dimizas from MVCC and Jim Macnider of Harper were awarded Region 4 Coach of the Year accolades.</description>

      <description>RICHMOND, VIR. - Region 4 once again made no doubt that when it comes to Division III men's cross country, it holds the top programs in the nation. The College of DuPage claimed the NJCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship for the second time in three years, edging out region rivals Harper College and Joliet Junior College to give the region its 12th national title in the last 14 years. First year runner Nathan Ciarlette became the second individual champion for JJC and led a pack of 11 region runners to finish in the top 15. The NJCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championships saw Sauk Valley Community College come away with the top finish by a Region 4 program, placing 16th.</description>

The Skyhawks ended a three-year run of success by Carl Sandburg en route to their first Region 4 title after finishing runner-up last year, while the Chaparrals won their third crown in the last four years. Waubonsee Community College freshman David Valkanov and COD's Kevin Diederich were the Region 4 Runners of the Year after taking home individual titles. Nick Hartz of SVCC and Mallory Dominguez of DuPage are the Region 4 Coach of the Year recipients.</description>

The Chargers earned their third consecutive Region 4 crown with a six-point victory over runner-up Sauk Valley Community College, while Harper College sprinted to its first title since seeing a long run of success halted after the 2019 season. Sophomore Allan Kipruto of CSC and freshman Kevin Diederich of College of DuPage were the Region 4 Runners of the Year after taking home individual titles. The Chargers earned 50 points to best runner-up Moraine Valley Community College and two other teams in the Division II race, while the Chaparrals finished with 45 points to top Joliet Junior College and Harper College. Sophomore Calton Kibet of Carl Sandburg College successfully defended his individual title from his freshman season with a time of 5:15.3 to earn the Region 4 Division II Athlete of the Year, and first year runner Nicholas Keeling's time of 5:16.1 put him atop the medal stand as the Region 4 Division III Athlete of the Year. Rodney Blue of Carl Sandburg College and Robert Cervenka of the College of DuPage were each honored as the Region 4 Coach of the Year.</description>

      <description>MALTA, ILL. - There was little doubt who the top runners and teams were at the 2021 Region 4 Division II &amp; III Men's Cross Country Championship on October 30. When the final scores were tallied, Carl Sandburg College claimed the Division II title and the College of DuPage took home the Division III hardware. Individually, the Chargers' Calton Kibet and Joliet Junior College's Hunter Phillips earned Runner of the Year accolades as the first place finishers.</description>

      <description>GALESBURG, ILL - A fresh face and an old reliable came away as the top teams at the 2019 Region IV Divisions I &amp; III Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 26 at Carl Sandburg College. In its first year as a competitive program, Bryant &amp; Stratton College took the DI crown with a 77-point day, besting second place Morton College with 94 points. In DIII, perennial power Harper College secured yet another title with 19 points, finishing 17 points ahead of Joliet Junior College. Waubonsee Community College sophomore Jordan VanBarriger took Runner of the Year accolades in Division I after crossing the finish line first with a time of 26.41.8, while sophomore Jacob Melgosa made sure he didn't finish runner-up for a second straight year by posting a time of 27:55.4 to best his own teammate by ten second en route to DIII Runner of Year honors. With their team victories, Casey Green of Bryant &amp; Stratton College and Jim Macnider of Harper College were each named Region IV Coach of the Year.</description>

The Hawks took the men's title for the eighth consecutive season with 38 points to win by 45 points over Sandhills Community College (NC), while the women's third crowning achievement also finished with 38 points to best Oxford Emory College (GA) by 51 points.</description>

      <title>Harper, Waubonsee chase down Region IV crowns</title>

      <description>GRAYSLAKE, ILL. - Harper College and Waubonsee Community College finished as the 2018 NJCAA Region IV Men's Cross Country Champions with the top point totals on Saturday, October 27 at the College of Lake County. The Hawks nearly swept the top eight spots in accumulating 16 points, while second place Joliet Junior College had 47 points in the Division III race. The DI race went to the Chiefs with a team total of 49 points, followed by the host Lancers with 58 points. The Region IV Runners of the Year went to Michael Sisko of Harper College after the sophomore beat teammate Jacob Melgosa by ten seconds at 27:32.60 in DIII, and Jonathan Fernandez of Malcolm X College after finishing in 26:03.60 to break the DI tape 13 seconds ahead Jeremy Wallace from the College of Lake County. With their team titles, Jim Macnider of Harper College and Trevor Howard of WCC were named Region IV Coaches of the Year.</description>
