Madison, Sauk Valley return to top of Region 4

MADISON, WISC. - Two championship droughts of differing lengths were ended in 2025 with Madison College and Sauk Valley Community College winning their respective districts in the Region 4 Division II Women's Volleyball Tournament. The top-seeded WolfPack swept #4-seeded Harper College 3-0 to win their first region title in a decade - and first in Division II - while the #3-seeded Skyhawks ran through #2-seeded Morton College 3-0 to claim their second banner in three years. Mallory Stone of Madison College and Jay Howell of SVCC were awarded Region 4 Coach of the Year honors.

CHICAGO, ILL. - Apparently one was not enough for the Olive-Harvey College Panthers, who made it two straight region crowns as they swept Malcolm X College 3-0 to win the 2025 Region 4 Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament just one year after winning the first region title in school history. Much like in 2024, Olive-Harvey did not drop a set in the tournament. Head coach Rakecia Jenkins was named the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

GLEN ELLYN, ILL. - The College of DuPage held off a stiff challenge from Joliet Junior College to repeat Region 4 Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament champions in 2025, winning their third in four years with a 3-0 sweep. The Chaparrals earned set wins of 25-22, 25-23, 25-13 and head coach Tolis Koskinaris was named Region 4 Coach of the Year.

The NJCAA Region 4 has announced the numerous recipients of all-region team accolades for student-athletes competing in the Fall 2024 season, including those recipients of Region 4 Player & Athlete of the Year honors.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2025 fall sports season, and 41 student-athletes representing Region 4 were recognized. The group includes eight from men's cross country, seven in women's cross country, four in men's soccer and women's volleyball, and three from women's soccer, as well as 15 College of DuPage football players. There are 11 first team recipients, 16 second team honorees, four third team selections, and ten honorable mention distinctions. The student-athletes represent nine Region 4 institutions.

The NJCAA Region 4 Hall of Fame is pleased to announce a nine-member induction Class of 2025. The group includes eight student-athletes, one of which is also recognized for lifetime achievement, and one national championship team that all excelled during their time competing in Region 4. The inductees represent five different Region 4 schools, including three inductees from Madison College, two each from Joliet Junior College and Oakton College, and one from the College of DuPage.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2024-25 fall sports season, and 47 student-athletes representing Region 4 were recognized. The group includes 12 from men's cross country, five in women's volleyball, four from women's cross country, and three from men's and women's soccer, as well as 20 College of DuPage football players. There are 17 first team recipients, 18 second team honorees, three third team selections, and eight honorable mention distinctions. The student-athletes represent ten Region 4 institutions.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The College of DuPage, Carl Sandburg College, and Milwaukee Area Technical College all made the trip to Iowa to compete in their respective national tournaments. The Chaparrals, two years removed from winning taking the crown, placed third at the NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships, while the Chargers and Stormers went a combined 1-4 at the NJCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championships.

MADISON, WISC. - The 2024 edition of the Region 4 Division II Districts A & B Women's Volleyball Tournament was a battle of endurance with five of the six matches going a full five sets and four ending with upset wins based on seedings. In the end, Milwaukee Area Technical College won its first region title by taking the District A bracket and Carl Sandburg College earned its fourth region crown. Shel DeLisle of the Stormers and Todd Winkler of the Chargers were awarded Region 4 Coach of the Year honors.

GLEN ELLYN, ILL. & UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. - The College of DuPage had to put in some extra work to regain their spot atop the Region 4 Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament; however, the top-seeded Chaparrals rallied for a 3-2 win over #2-seeded Joliet Junior College on October 30. The Wolves led two-sets-to-none before COD turned the match around to claim their second title in the last three years. Tolis Koskinaris was awarded the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

CHICAGO, ILL. - A pair of sweeps resulted in the Olive-Harvey College women's volleyball team winning the first Region 4 championship in school history after a 3-0 decision over defending champion Malcolm X College in the 2024 Region 4 Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 4 membership will grow by two for the 2024-25 academic calendar with a pair of Janesville, Wisconsin-based institutions. Blackhawk Technical College and UW-Whitewater at Rock County will push the number of school in Region 4 to 32.
